So about me, I’m a mother, a wife, and recently affected by Lupus. It went around parading like it was Sjogren’s, but my body changed its mind seeing as I never had the symptoms. It wasn’t until late fall/early winter, I found myself introduced to this new devil of a disease to go along with Fibromyalgia which doesn’t always want to play nice.
Diagnosed with Sjogren’s in 2012, I thought the world was ending then. My doctor told me over the phone I had Sjogren’s. He had no humor nor bedside manner. A couple of months later, Fibromyalgia. Whatever. It is what it is. I never said I’d let it beat me.
I started this blog to spread awareness of these diseases. I feel we are still learning about them (like Fibromyalgia) as some lack the information needed to understand them, and what they cause people to go through. They are classified as an autoimmune disease or as chronic pain disorders. They are invisible– so from the outside we look fine– but it doesn’t mean we always feel fine.
I also love to write. Would love to connect with people who have these particular diseases. Or those who want to understand them better. I am trying to understand Lupus myself being newly diagnosed so bear with me.
One thing I can say has helped me in these last 8 years, Leaning on God. He has helped me through many hard times. When I am weak, he gives me true strength. He has shown me mercy and love, and it is how I manage each day. I wouldn’t be where I am without him. Or his forgiveness.
Kindness goes a long way. IF I can help make someone else’s day then I can rest a little easier. Aren’t we all here to help each other? I believe we are all here trying to figure it out. Whether we suffer from an autoimmune disease, or not.
